Alright guys, this is gonna be a long one!
So in my last post, I was just updating you all on my life; I've been so busy I haven't had time to blog.
Let's start at February 11. The whole ISA group went to Stonehenge and Bath! Stonehenge was suuuper cool and I've always wanted to see it! It's so big! Like I said though, all we could really do was walk in a circle around it and take pictures. So we did that and got back onto the bus because it was freezing! Then we took the bus to Bath. The bus like broke down or something so we had to wait almost 45 minutes for a replacement bus to come find us and take us there. We got there and we took the worlds shortest tour because we were running late. We went into the Roman Baths and they we ohhh so warm :) Well we didnt like go
into the baths, but we went intide to where they were haha. So again, we walked around, tooks pics and threw the duces up to the Roman Baths.

Before we went to see the baths, we had about 3 hours of free time! Caity and I roamed Bath and it was so cute (just like every little town in Europe). We went to Pizza Hut and we actually had to wait to be seated, then we had a legit waiter and stuff. It's like a nice place to eat in Europe, they even sell wine and beer! It's so weird, cause like every place you go to, even department stores, sells alcohol, it's crazy! So Pizza Hut is a pretty classy place here! haha. The town was very cool though, and it was really crowded because there was a football (soccer) game that day.

So fast forward one week. Duing one week in the semester we had GIS week, which is Guided Independent Study. Normally it's the 6th or 7th week of school. My GIS week was this past week, so why not travel to another country?! Caity and I randomly decided to go to Prague about a week and a half prior to our trip...And it was the best spontaneous trip I've ever taken! Prague is sooo beautiful! It feels like a quaint little town, but it's pretty big and so much to do there! So we got off our flight and found our hostel and just started walking around the town! There's Old Town and New Town. Our hostel was in New Town, so it had more fancy restaurants and pretty decent shopping compaired to Old Town. We were super tired though, so after we went to Tesco to get some food for the week and a store to get a converter, we peaced out and went to bed.
The second day we were there we walked up to Old Town! It's like a 10 minute walk from our hostel so it wasnt far at all. It was just a town square with a big church, a clock tower and little cafe places to eat everywhere! Caity and I were starving so went into one of the first places we saw to eat and had none other than pizzzza! We heart pizza! Since it was pretty cold out, I tried some hot wine and it is DELICIOUS! It a dark wine, heated up with sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon. So it was like a cider, only with wine. OMG it was the best thing I've ever tasted!

After our tasty meal, we headed off into the city! We crossed the Charles Bridge, went to the Lennon Wall, found the Love Padlocks and found the cutest place to eat that had like a delish hot chocolate pudding thing. Caity and I were in heaven eating this stuff. Our excursion took almost all day so we went back to the hostel and relaxed for a bit then we went out! We made friends with some guys from Italy and had a lot of fun, but we went home a little early that night cause we were so tired!

Day two: Petrin Hill! Petrin Hill is a big hill in Pargue with fun little attractions at the top. It has a mini Eiffel Tower, a cafe, a maze of mirrors and some other fun things! Caity and I decided to walk up the hill. It was like a 2 mile hike but it was so worth it because the view was spectacular!!! Once we got to the top we went straight to the maze of mirrors! It was so fun/trippy/confusing. We had way too much fun in there.. Then we grabbed some food in the little cafe and took the tram down th hill because there was no way we were going to walk down that. After that we went to the hostel to rest/get ready for our pub crawl that night!!! The pub crawl was sooooooo much fun! The first bar we went to we got free drinks, shots, wine and absinthe for 2 hours!! Needless to say, I took total advantage of that. We went to 3 other bars after that and had one great, drunken night to go down in the books.

So the next day we serisouly did like nothing. Our flight was in the evening and we didnt want to spend any more money so we just went to Old Town and walked around and grabbed some gelato. We got to the airport about 3 hours before our flight and we finally made it home at about 12 at night!
We got back Wednesday night and we realized we had class the next day! Omg we were not happy. Our class was at 9 a.m., so that was a pretty big bummer after being so tired from the week. Our art and sociaty class to a trip to the Imperial War Museum. I really enjoyed it and I think Caity and I want to go back and see everything we missed. After class we took a nap, then worked on our stupid papers. Caity's was due on Thursday, and I wanted to try and finish mine thats due the next Thursday so I wouldn't have to worry about it while I was in Paris, but I didn't manage finishing it :( At abou 12 midnight, we started to pack for Paris! We were so warn out though and didnt want to do it at all. So I just overpacked and didnt careeee.
The next morning we got up around 6 a.m. to head to the train station! Our train to Paris was about 2 hours so it wasn't bad at all. We had trouble finding out hotel once we got to Paris because it was like ticked away in a little back alley, but it was cute! We threw on some make up and went roaming Paris!! The Eiffel tower was only about a 15 minute walk from our hotel and it was obviously really easy to find since it's so tall! It was AMAZING once we finally got there! We couldn't believe how huge it was!! We took far too many pictures of it.

AHhh!! :) |

We love this pic! |
The weather was unseasonally nice out that day, which made everything 100 times better. We walked across the birdge and took more pictures of the Eiffel Tower, then we walked up to the Arc de Triomphe! That thing was huge also. We walked down Champs Elysees and were STARVING so we stopped at the first cafe we saw. The window/wall things were completely open because it the weather was so nice and we got a spot right at the edge, practically on the pavement! We grabbed some yummy ham and cheese sandwiches with soem drinks. I got some wine which was so good! Caity ordered some Dr. Pepper, but they came back with some tea or something.. haha. Our waitor was super fun too. He took my camera and took pictures of himself and his boss. Silly silllly.

Our silly waitor. We clearly thinks he's hilarious. |
After our expensive lunch we headed down Champs Elysees toward the Louvre. We went into a few shops here and there but everything was completely out of my price range. We walked by this group of people waiting in line by some really pretty black and gold gates and we were wondering what they were doing. We got a little closer and we realized the line was for Abmercrombie & Fitch!! People here are obsessed with that store!! There were models standing in front and everything. They waved to us to come over but we were like uhhh maybe 6 years ago! Haha anyways, I dont know why, but A&F is like adored here. So we went down toward the Louvre and stopped to grab some crepes and sit by the fountain and chill for a little while. We walked a little more up the street and saw the Lourve! We noticed that people under the age of 26 on Fridays after 6 p.m. get in for free so we walked around for an hour and came back to go inside!

Gorgeous view walking around Paris! |
|
Yay we did it!! |
After out little stroll around Paris, we came back to the Louvre to go have a looksy at all the famour art inside! We saw the Mona Lisa, the statue without a head, and the statue without arms. In middle school I saw all of these in my textbooks and it was so weird to actually see them in person! I never thought that I'd be able to see some of the world's best artwork! Caity and I loved the Lourve. If our feet didn't hurt so bad and we weren't so tired, we def would have stayed longer. We walked around the halls and went downstairs to the Egyptian exhibition and saw one of those pharaoh things that looks like a big cat. I would absolutely love to go back to the Louvre one day and spend a few hours just walking around!

We got back to the hotel that night and literally passed out. Lol os much for our going out plans. We woke up like 2 hours late the next morning because we slept in one hour, and our phones never changed with the time so we deff got a late start. We finally left and we walked right outside our hotel and there was a market there! It was the coolest food market ever! It was exactly lke you'd see it in the movies. It was huge and fun and crowded with delicious food. Then we took about a 30 minutes Metro ride all the way up north to hit up the actual market we were trying to go to haha. It was insane the amount of booths and people there were! Our first stop I bought 2 pairs of shoes and Caity bought 3, all for 10 eruo a pair!! I was serisously IN HEAVEN! We walked around some more and I totally splurged. Everything I bought was super cheap, but I bought a lot of super cheap stuff.. My only thinking was, when am I ever gonna find clothes this cheap and this fashionable again? So that was how I convinced myself that I was okay :)
|
Our first market stop! |
After the market we hit up Sacre Coeur, it was gorgeous! The view at teh top was amazing. And there were singers, artists and puppet shows going all the way down the stairs, it was so festive! After spending some time up there we walked down the stairs to the main road at the bottom. We got stopped by some African dudes who tricked us into helping them make a bracelet out of string then paying for it... they were tricky tricky. We grabbed some food and drinks to rest for a little, then we walked to Moulin Rouge! It was really busy around there and I would have loved to walk around there at night to see what its like!

Moulin Rouge!! |
After Moulin Rouge we took the Metro straight to Norte Dame! Omg I loved it there! That was one of my fave movies when I was younger and I've always wanted to go since I was a kiddo. We took some pics and then we booked it back to the Eiffel Tower so we could see it sparkle!!! It was about 6:30 and we needed to get there by 7 because it sparkles on the hour so we were franically trying to get there on time. We got out of the Metro and we missed it! But I was okay with it because Caity and I walked around the Eiffel Tower for about an hour waiting for it sparkle. It was almost 8 and we started to walked away from it so we could get a really good view. And finally the lights came on and it was soooo pretty! The videos I've seen of it doesn't do it justice, it was serisously amazing!! It has to be one of the prettiest things I've ever seen!
|
Completely amazing! |
|
It's sparkly and in Paris. Perfection! |
After we left the Eiffel Tower, we went back to our room to go out. It was okay, but I was a little too tired to have a lot of fun so late haha. So sadly we got up this morning and had to leave :( We walked to a little cafe outside and had some extremely expensive scarmbled eggs and chocalte croissants. We left to go to the train straight from the cafe. Our train got delayed about an hour and a half so we did a lot of waiting around in the station. But we finally made it back home! I'm really glad to be home in London, but I'm sad out week long adventure is over! Prague and Paris were amazing and I'm so blessed to have this opportunity! I loved Paris so much, there is no way I'm going back to America without going back to Paris first. It was amazing and everything I though it's be plus more. It's the most beautiful city I've ever been to. If you've never been to Paris, go book your flight now!!
I love that you "threw the duces up to the Roman Baths." hahahaha silly!! your pictures are so pretty!! I can't wait to visit Paris one day!
