what's the craic?!

Hello my lovely readers!

The adventure of this week was DUBLIN!  Yes, EVERYTHING is green there.  It was soo crazy but it was so much fun too!  This trip definitely was a top favorite.

So first off, our flight was at like 6 in the morning and the airport was an hour away.  So we woke up from our one hour nap, grabbed our bags and walked to the Victoria Coach Station.  We got there around 3 a.m. and it left at 3:30.  To make a long story short, we finally arrive into Dublin at 7:45 IN THE MORNING.  I couldn't believe how early it was.  We waiting for the rest of our group to get to the airport and we headed off to the hostel.

We found the hostel and once we got in it was so cool!  There was a bar/club, an eating area, a place to hang out with comfy chairs and sofas, a downstairs and a lot of computers!  They even had a place to grab some food right at the font desk.  It was by far the coolest hostel we've stayed in.  Our room was even cooler.  We walked in and there was a huge mural on the wall of swirls and colors.  There was a vanity with lights around it and then there were 5 bunk beds.  The beds were all made with huge, fluffy, pink and purple pillows on each one!  It was adorable!! We were pretty much obsessed without room.

So we arrived at Generator hostel in Dublin 2 days away from St. Patty's day.  So I'll give you once guess as to what we did.  That's right!  SLEEP!  It wasn't even 10 a.m. yet once we got to the room.  We were planning on meeting the other girls around two hours from then to grab some food, but we ended up sleeping like for three and a half hours.  The girls already finished eating once we got there so they went a roamed around Temple Bar and we sat down an ate.  After that we met up with the girls again and decided on what to do.  They were planning on going to Galway the next day but Caity, Holly and I just wanted to go to the coast, so they went to a travel agent and we went to the bar.  It was already crazy inside and it wasn't even 6 yet.  We grabbed a few drinks and were there for a while then we grabbed a picure with a leprechaun and went into another bar.  It was just as crazy, only bigger.  There was live music and we all freaked out when the artist sang Wagon Wheel.  We looked like total Americans.  We got home sometime around 1 or 2 in the morning and called it a night.

The next day we woke up around 11 and headed to Howth!  It was raining though :(  So we stopped at a presh little diner outside of the train station and ate some yummy food.  It was still raining and we were still hungrey so we grabbed some ice cream and ate it in the convient store we got it from.  We finally started heading toward the coast, but it was cold and rainy and coooold!  After an hour of being tormented by the icy rain, it finally let up and we walked up a little mountain/hill thing to a GORGEOUS cliff!  We spent over an hour just sitting and looking at the view and exploring the cliff and taking silly pictures of each other.  It was a total blast.  Ireland serisously looks just like the pictures.  It has a beautiful coast and everything is greens.  The pictures and videos don't do it justice at all, it's beautiful.

After we left Howth, we headed back down to Temple Bar.  There was an overgrown leprechaun chilling outside somewhere and we really wanted a picture of it.  When we were taking the picture like 7 guys from Spain just hopped right in the picture like we're best friends or something.  It was hilar.  Then we took another by ourselves, or tried to at least, and another guy from Spain hopped back in.  We were walking away to hit up a pub and all the guys started clapping and bowing and shouting "OLE!" towards us, like we just won a battle or something. So strange, but really funny.  We only had a drink or two that night and headed home because we needed to get up early for St. Patty's Day!

OLE!!
Aaaand ST PATTYS DAY!  We woke up early so we could watch the parade then commence celebrations afterwards.  We got all ready and looked like Ireland threw up on us #goinggreen.  We walked to the parade, but it was chilly out again.  Then before it even started it began to rain.  But it finally let up and the parade began!  It was honestly so weird.  I saw nothing that pertained to this glorious holiday.  So after abour 30 minutes of the weirest parade ever,  the three of us did like the Irish do and went to a pub.

We went inside a pub that we hadn't been to yet and found a prime location in the middle of the balcony.  It was PACKED.  We only sat down for a few minutes until these two guys came and asked to sit with us to watch the football game that we had no idea was going to be on.  Needless to say, we all became fast friends.  We played a drinking game called fingers.  If you don't know what it is, I feel sorry for you.  I lost 4 games.. yeah the most out of everyone.  Then we made friends with the people sitting behind us and we all crammed into this tiny table to play the game.  We became besties for the night and found each other on facebook!

After a few hours at the pub we left to venture out to more.  It was absolutely insane outside, it was like a mob.  The ground was littered with drinks, crushed aluminum, green decorations and broken glass.  We serisouly couldnt see the ground.  We bar hopped, partied, and had fun until the wee hours of the night.  After the bar/pub scene at Temple Bar, we headed back to the hostel!  Oh, but we forgot that there was a club in the hostel.  Round 2!  We grabbed some beers (and broke our third glass of the night), and partied it up the rest of the night!

All Ready!!

So we woke up the next morning, checked out of the hostel and grabbed some yummy yummy food and walked around Dublin for a few hours.  There was serisouly broken glass everywhere, down every street and in every corner.  It's all probably still there.  I feel bad for the person who had to clean that up.  We hopped in a cab to the airport and shopped around in an Irish store and grabbed some gifts for Mum.  We made it home by 7 that night and passed out.  It was an amzing weekend and Caity and I are SO excited to go back!  We're planning on going back sometime in May when it's nice and warm and we're gonna go to Galway!  SO EXCITED!

Cheers everyone!
