Our nation's capitol

So straight off the plane from Orlando, I hopped in a cab around 11pm and took a mini tour around the city to the hotel.  One of my favorite things is to see the national monuments lit up at night in DC.  It's really one of the coolest things to see, and it never gets old.  I've been to DC a fair amount of times, but it's still one of my favorite places to visit in America.  The history and stories surrounding the city are unreal, and to walk in the footesteps of our nations founders is an enlightening experience.  The summertime is so beautiful too!

That night, I went to Stephen's apartment with a few of his roommates and we hung out for a while.  I came back to the hotel and the next morning was one of Stephen's graduation ceremonies for GW.  His school has graduation where you first graduate with your college, then the next day the whole graduating class graduates on The National Mall.

We sat and watched stephen and the rest of his college graduate, then after we obviously took pictures around his campus.  I brought my cap and gown with me on the trip so we could have a few twin pictues of us in our cap and gowns together.  So cute.

After the ceremony and pictures and all of that, we went to stephens extremely nice apartments adn heading to the rooftop.  It was a bit chilly, but we sat up there with a great view of the city.  To celebrate, my dad surprised us with of a bottle of Dom Perignon!  After two bottles of champagne, we went to a yummy chinese restaurant for dinner and drinks!  Later that night, Stephen and I went back to his places and hung out!

Cheers!
The next day was the whole universities commencement ceremony!  GW is the only college in the national to have their graduation on the Mall, so it was really special.  It was overcast and rainy almost the whole time, but it was still fun!  It took almost 45 minutes for the whole graduating class to take their seats, and while they were it was pouring down on us!  It was so foggy, you could only see the very bottom of the Washington Monument.  Faceing the stage, the Washington Monument was in the background, and in the opposite direction was the Capitol.  Besides the rain, it was a very picturesque ceremony.  The commencement speak was GW alum, Kerry Washington from the show Scandals!  She had a really great speach!

Thankfully the rain let up and the clouds cleared and it actually became a very nice day!  After the ceremony we went back to Stephens apatment with all his other roommates and parents.  We went to the rooftop again to have a little party with Jimmy John's catered, fruit, delcisou cake, and drinks!  It was fun to meet all of his roommies finally and just chat with them and their parents!

If only it wasnt foggy!

Congrats to my twin brother, Stephen!
After our mini party on the rooftop, we did a bit of sightseeing then went to a nice restaurant for a proper celebratory dinner!  I can't remember the name, but they had fabuous milkshakes haha.  That night, again, Stephen and I went to his place and hung out with more of his friends and his girlfriend, Caroline.  It was a fun day!

Hello Mr. President.

Mema, Stephen, me and dad infront of the White House!

The next day, we woke up and went to a department store to buy stephen a few new clothes and dress shoes, then we headed out!  My dad was staying in DC because he had a flight out, so him, Stephen and one of my dads work friends went to grab lunch, while Mema, my mom and I started our 22 hour drive home back to Kansas.  We stopped at the WWII memorial on our way out of town!

After hours and hours in the car, we finally made it back to KC!

The next stop: Louisville, Kentucky for Abbey Road on the River with CAITY!!!
